Your inbox.
Your business.
Updated October 7, 2026.
Your email is checked on your computer. Spammish moves unwanted mail out of Inbox without deleting it.
What happens to your email
Spammish reads email content, sender information and conversation history to decide what should leave Inbox. It moves qualifying mail to The Abyss, a label in your Gmail. Rescue returns an email to Inbox.
Spammish does not delete mail, move it to Trash, mark it as Spam, reply, send messages, open message links or unsubscribe for you. If you want to delete mail in The Abyss, you do that yourself in Gmail.
No filter is perfectly accurate. Mail in The Abyss stays searchable and recoverable while it remains in Gmail. Spammish cannot recover messages you permanently delete yourself.
Where filtering happens
Email is checked on your computer. Spammish does not send message content to its servers or an external AI service for filtering. The extension still communicates with Google to read and move mail.
Your rules, corrections and local records stay in this browser profile. They are separate for each connected Gmail account. We do not claim that browser storage is encrypted or kept forever.
Connecting Gmail
You choose which Gmail accounts to connect and approve access through
Google. Spammish requests
Gmail read and manage permission. Google calls this permission gmail.modify. It is broader
than the actions Spammish actually performs; the permission itself does
not prohibit sending or deleting mail.
The extension keeps the credentials needed to connect to Google. They are not shared with controls added to the Gmail page.
Disconnecting and resetting
Disconnecting an account stops its work and clears its local credentials, rules, corrections and queued cleanup. Mail already in The Abyss stays in Gmail. Other connected accounts remain separate.
Disconnecting does not revoke Google’s permission grant. You can remove that access separately in your Google Account settings. Uninstalling may remove local Spammish records; your Gmail messages and labels remain.
Resetting rules and corrections makes Spammish forget those choices for the selected account. It does not bring previously moved email back to Inbox.
Local activity records
Local counters record moves and Rescues. They do not measure accuracy. The website has no analytics SDK or browser fingerprinting. It may count basic visits and activation milestones without collecting message content. Hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information.
Earlier availability signups
Earlier availability forms collected an email address, signup time and consent to updates. Those signups did not connect Gmail, create a subscription or authorize a payment.
Existing signup records are used only for their original availability-update purpose. Earlier Cloud-launch consent has not been broadened. This website does not automatically send email.
Existing records are stored privately on the site’s Fly.io storage volume, with no public export. The operator can access them. Fly.io may process request information to operate the site. A temporary network-address hash limits abusive submissions in memory; it is not stored with an email address.
Removing an earlier signup
Use our private reporting channel with the title “Waitlist removal” and the address to remove. Do not include Gmail credentials or mailbox content, or post your address in a public issue. Records remain until removal is requested or the relevant availability list is retired.
The separate open-source app
The MIT app has its own privacy documentation. Its optional sharing choices are separate. This website does not change that app or its consent.
